The firm has forward 611 store cattle at their fortnightly sale at Lanark. The recent good weather and slight increase in their prime stock price has the desired effect and all classes of cattle were dearer on the fortnight especially more forward types. The top price of £1230 was paid for an AAX Bullock from Messrs. Mclean, Walesley, Strathaven. Highest bullock per kg was 266.3p/kg for a pen of Limousin X from Messrs. Gilchrist, Newmill, Dolphinton. Best priced heifer was £1200 for a Charolais X from Messrs. Walker Netherurd Mains, Blyth Bridge. Highest price per kg was 271.9p/kg for a Limousin X from Messrs. Hamilton, Dillars.
