Blackface In Lamb Female Sale
Sale Date: Sat 1 March
At their Annual Show and Sale of Blackface In-Lamb Females, Lawrie & Symington had forward 66 Ewes and Gimmers.
At the show prior to the sale, the Judge, Mr Ian Finlay, Blackcraig, Corsock, Castle Douglas, awarded the Championship to a One Crop Ewe consigned by Euan McMillan, Lurg Farm, Fintry by the Ballymeanoch Stag Ram and sold in lamb to £50,000 Pole. The Judge joined forces with Troloss Farms to back his judgement and purchased her for £5,200.
The Reserve Ticket was awarded to a Gimmer from J Wight & Sons, Crimp Cramp. She was by a home bred son of £40,000 Nunnerie, and sold in lamb to £26,000 Dalchirla. She was the first sheep into the ring, and sold for £2,300 to G Watson, Knockbreck, Straiton.
