At their annual sale of Blackface Ewes and Gimmers Lawrie and Symington had forward 5309 sheep.

Despite the current depression in the prime lamb market a large audience of buyers from all over Scotland and Northern Ireland a stong trade prevailed throughout.

 Top price on the day was £1550 for a pen of 6 Gimmers Consigned by Alistair & David McArthur, Nunnerie which were purchased by Tom Bagon, Waterlands, Stewarton. This was followed at £1380 for a pen of 4 Gimmers from Hugh and Alan Blackwood, Auldhouseburn Purchased by David Lennox, Cookstown.

In the ewe section the top price was £460 for a pen of 10 from John Wight & Son, Midlock purchased by Ian Davidson, Larne. This was followed also at £460 for a pen of 20 from Billy Renwick, Blackhouse purchased by Denis Hodgkiss, Browncastle, and Strathaven

The 3477 Blackface Ewes averaged £82.63 against last year £78.42 a rise of £4.21

The 1641 Black face Gimmers averaged £123.65
