At their final sale of rams for the year Lawrie & Symington had forward 1032 Blackface, Cheviot, Bluefaced, Suffolk & crossbred rams & females. With a large attendance of buyers from all over the country a good trade prevailed through the sale.

Blackface Ram Lambs - Top price was £2,500 from J Murray, Crossflatt purchased by D Morrison, Dalwyne. This was followed at £2,100 consigned by J Harkin, Loughash purchased by W Dunlop, Elmscleugh. At £2,000 J Kay & Sons, Hartside sold their best lamb to J Mitchell & Son, Little Larg. Also at £2,000 A McGregor, Allanfauld sold to Mulholland Contracts, Hyndhope. The 76 lambs averaged £555.66. Principal prices – Crossflatt £2,500, Loughash £2,100, £1,000, Hartside £2,000, Allanfauld £2,000, £1,100, Dyke £1,800, £1,000 x2, Mitchellhill £1,600, Midlock £1,300, Milnmark £1,200 x2, Netherwood £1,200, £600, Troloss £1,100, Hills of Errol £700, Nunnerie £800, Westhills £800.

Blackface Shearlings – In the shearling section top price was £1,550 consigned by Drannandow Farms purchased by LG Luescher, Megdale. This was followed at £1,250 owned by TD Renwick, Williamhope purchased by NG & AM Kydd, Glenhead. Bluefaced Leicester Rams & Females – The firm had a catalogue entry of 116 shearlings and 34 females a sound trade prevailed with quality sorts in demand. Top price £1,400 for a CZ Hewgill ewe in-lamb to a £5,000 lamb purchased at Hawes earlier in the season. Consigner of this lot was J Wight & Sons, Midlock. Texel Rams & Ram Lambs – Catalogue entry of 295 with both classes selling extremely well with an almost 99.95% clearance. Top price on the day was a shearling from JB Pate & Son, Toxside which realised £820. Top price in the ram lamb section was £640 this lamb was consigned by J Tough, Easter Seat. 133 Shearlings averaged £355.26 (+£103.26 for 3 more sold) 103 Ram lambs averaged £218.25 (+£61.25 for 28 less).
