Lawrie & Symington, Forfar  had forward 70 Prime and Cast Cattle and 802 Prime sheep at their Christmas Fatstock Show and Sale. A tremendous show of prime cattle were forward today, with butchers and wholesalers commenting how happy they were to see cattle well fleshed and handy weights, vendors need to be congratulated for this, the company would like to thank them for supporting this sale today and of course our sponsors who kindly donated the sponsorship money, Feedmix Ltd, A P Jess (Food Group ), W Walker LLP, Agricar, Mackie Motors and Allflex, the judge today was Mr Jamie Scott, of John Scott Meats, Paisley

 

The Overall Champion ticket was awarded to J A Peters & Son, West Bog Farm for an outstanding Limousin heifer called “Gin and Tonic” scaling 632 kilos and realising £4.00 a kilo or £2528.00 bought by the Judge Jamie Scott of John Scott Meats, Paisley

 

Reserve was an Aberdeen Angus Heifer consigned by George McFadzean, Woodhead of Mailer, she weighed 579kilos and was knocked down at £3.70 a kilo, coming to £2142.30, she went to Scott Brothers, Dundee
