Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward 35 Prime and Cast Cattle and  1348    Prime Sheep.


Bullocks (7) sold to 240p per kg for a 598 kg BRB from Gask and purchased by J. Chapman & Son, Wishaw and to £1563 per head for a 657 kg Limousin from Nethermyres and   purchased by D. Greenhill, Forfar on behalf of a client to average 233p per kg.

Heifers (19) sold to 246p per kg for a 589 kg Limousin from West Bog and purchased by Scott Bros., Dundee and to £1478 per head for 672 kg Simmental Cross from Mains of Melgund and purchased by D. Greenhill again on behalf of a client to average 231p per kg.

Prime Lambs (1087) met a sharper trade this week, in particular heavier lambs which were easier to cash. Lambs sold to 212.8p for a pen of 47kg Texels from Messrs D. Stewart & Son, Mains of Dalrulzion and to £100 for the same pen to average 179p. (up 11.5p on the week).

SQQ ave 188.2p.

Also forward were 261 Cast Ewes and Rams which again met a similar trade on the week. Top Price of the day went to Messrs D. Stewart & Son, Mains of Dalrulzion for a pen of Texel Ewes which made £103.
