PRIME CATTLE

Bullocks (9) sold to 236p per kg for a 627kg Limousin from Nethermyres and to £1479 for the same beast purchased by W.E. Fairlie, Letham to average 227p per kg.

Heifers (16) sold to 255p per kg for a 570 kg Limousin from West Bog and purchased by J.B. Penman, Crail and to £1509 per head for a 611 kg Limousin from Gask and purchased by James Ewart Ltd. to average 231p per kg.

PRIME SHEEP

Prime Lambs (824). Trade today was in keeping with the national trend, with heavy lambs being harder to cash, but 39-44kg were still in demand. Todays trade was topped at £91 for an exceptional Beltex lamb from W. Mather & Son, Shandford or 193p per kg for Texels from W.D. Farquharson, Cairncortie to average 161p per kg.

SQQ average was 166p per kilo.
