Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward  46 Prime Cattle and  Cast Cows also 553 Prime Sheep.

PRIME CATTLE

Bullocks (14) sold to 250p per kg for a 605 kg Limousin from Nethermyres and to £1512 for the same beast and purchased Fleming Butchers, Arbroath to average 224p per kg.

Heifers (22) sold to 260p per kg for a 582 kg Limousin from West Bog and to £1513 for the same animal and purchased by the Firm of J.B. Penman, Butchers, Crail to average 227p per kg.

PRIME SHEEP

A mixed show of 370 lambs followed the nationwide trend in being easier on the week for all classes. Lambs sold to 186.6p for a pen of 41 kg Continentals from Messrs D. Smith, Scobshaugh and to £90 for a pen of 56kg Texels from Messrs D. Stewart & Son, Mains of Dalrulzion to average 154.5p (back 6p on the week).

Cast Ewes & Rams (183) were forward with all classes sharper on the week. Top Price of the day for ewes went to Rossie Home Farms for a pen of Texel Ewes making £76.50 to average £49.58 (up £5.20 on the week).
