Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward  25 Prime &  OTM  Cattle and  852 Prime Sheep.

PRIME CATTLE

Bullocks (9) sold to 244p per kg for a 612kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by J. Chapman (Butchers), Wishaw and to £1586 per head for a 684kg Limousin again from Nethermyres and purchased by J. Chapman (Butchers), Wishaw to average 2.28p per kg.

Heifers (14) sold to 254p per kg for a 576kg Limousin from Nethermyres purchased by J.B. Penman, Crail and to £1466 for a 616kg Limousin again from Nethermyres and purchased by J. Ewart, Monifieth to average 2.32p per kg.

PRIME SHEEP

A mixed show or 647 Lambs were forward with good quality lambs maintaining a similar trade on the week, but again lighter and plainer lambs were harder to cash. Lambs sold to 182.2p for a pen of 45 kg Beltex’s from Messrs D. Stewart & Son, Mains of Dalrulzion and to £97 for a 53.5kg Beltex off the same home to average 159.5p (same trade as last week).

Beltex £89 & £87 Mains of Dalrulzion, £84 Cairncortie; Texel £83 Glensaugh ,Easter Cammock & Fallaw, £82 Dustydrum; Suffolk £81 Drumyellow & Millhorn.

Also forward were 205 Cast Ewes & Tups. With trade on all classes easier on the week, top price of the day went to W.L. Spalding & Sons, Balconnel for a pen of Texel Ewes making £74.
