Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward 23 Prime Cattle  and  893   Prime Sheep.

PRIME CATTLE

Bullocks (9) sold to 246p per kg for a 584 kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by the Firm of W.E. Fairlie, Letham and to £1516 per head for a 637 kg Limousin  again from Nethermyres and purchased by J. Chapman (Butchers) Ltd., Wishaw to average 230p per kg.

Heifers (14) sold to 254p per kg for a 550 kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by J. Penman, Butchers, Crail and to £1432 per head for a 597 kg Limousin again from Nethermyres and purchased by Scott Bros., Dundee to average 237p per kg.

PRIME SHEEP

Prime Lambs (673) were forward with all classes easier on the week. Lambs sold to 195.9p for a pen of 48.5kg Beltex’s from Messrs D. Stewart & Son, Mains of Dalrulzion and to £95 for the same lot to average 159.5p (back 6.5p on the week).

Cast Ewes & Rams (220)

A smaller show were forward with trade sharper on the week. Top price went to D. & I. MacKintosh, Kirkton of Kingoldrum for a pen of Texel Ewes reaching £96.
