Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward  25  Prime Cattle and Cows  and  1105  Prime Sheep.


Bullocks (4) sold to 248p per kilo for a Limousin and to £1517 per head for the same animal from the Gask and purchased by Messrs T. & A. Rennie, Butchers, Forfar to average 239.6p.

Heifers (18) sold to 248p per kilo (twice) for Limousin’s  from Nethermyres both purchased by J.B. Penman, Crail and to £1504 per head for a Limousin from Gask and purchased by Messrs J. Chapman (Butchers) Ltd., Wishaw to average 225.9p.

All classes of prime lambs were easier on the week, in particular lighter weight lambs. Lambs sold to 202.4p for a pen of 42.5kg Beltex’s from Messrs D. Smith, Scobshaugh and to £90 for a pen of 48kg Beltex Crosses from Witton Farms to average 170.5p (down 8.5p on the week)
