Bullocks (6) sold to 243p per kg for a 603kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by the Firm of W.E. Fairlie, Letham and to £1585 per head for a 658 kg Limousin from Gask and purchased by J. Chapman (Butchers) Ltd., Wishaw to average 238 p per kg.

Heifers (23) sold to 256p per kg for a 548kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by the Firm of J.B. Penman, Butchers, Crail and to £1500 per head for a 633 kg Charolais from Middlehill and purchased by D. Greenhill to average 235p per kg.

Prime Lambs

With the harvest well under way in the area, a smaller show of 500 lambs were forward with all classes slightly easier on the week. Lambs sold to 202.2p for a pair of 46.5kg Beltex’s from R. & A. Stodart, Mill of Inverarity and to £100 for a 52 kg Suffolk from Messrs T.M. & R. Wilson, Wairds of Alpity to average 167.5p (less 4.6p on the week).

Cast Ewes & Rams (249) met a similar trade on the week. Top Price of the day went to Mrs Helga Irvine, West Pitcorthie for a pen of Suffolk Ewes reaching £82.
