Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward 39 Prime Cattle, Cast Cows and Bulls and 1003 Prime Sheep.

PRIME CATTLE

Bullocks (10) sold to 242p per kg for a 637kg Limousin from Nethermyres and £1541 per head for the same beast and purchased by James Ewart Ltd. to average 228p per kg.

Heifers (22) sold to 256p per kg (twice), firstly for a 588 kg Limousin from West Bog and to £1505 for the same beast and also 256p for a 527 kg Limousin  from Nethermyres and both purchased by the Firm of J.B. Penman, Crail to average 238p per kg.

PRIME LAMBS

A smaller show of 607 lambs met an easier trade on the week, with all classes proving harder to cash. Lambs sold to 202.2p for a pen of 46kg Texels from Mr. Andrew Beattie, Tulliwhanland and to £95 for a pen of 48.5 kg Texels from the same home to average 172.1p (back 10.2p on the week, but up 33.5p on the corresponding sale last year).

Cast Ewes and Rams (396) met a similar trade on the week. Top Price of the day went to Mr. Andrew Beattie, Tulliwhanland for a Texel Ewe reaching £87.50.
