Bullocks (9) sold to 239p per kg for a 614 kg Limousin from the Gask and purchased by James Ewart Ltd. and to £1475 per head for a 650 kg Limousinn from Nethermyres purchased by J. Chapman (Butchers) Ltd., Wishaw to average 228p per kg.

Heifers (26) sold to 252p per kg for a 529 kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by the Firm of J.B. Penman, Crail and to £1453 per head for 670 kilo Limousin from J.M. Watson, Pityot and purchased by W.E. Fairlie, Letham to average 227p per kg.

Prime Lambs (568) met a slightly easier trade on the week. Lambs sold to 221.7p per kg for a pair of 46kg Beltex’s from R. & A. Stodart, Mill of Inverarity and to £102 for the same animals to average 185.3p (less 1.4p on the week, but up 39.2p on the corresponding sale last year).

Also forward was 244 Cast Ewes and Rams.  Top price of the day went to the Firm of William Mather & Sons, Shandford for a Suffolk ewe that made £103.
