Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward 22 Prime Cattle and OTM’s  also 832  Prime Sheep.

PRIME CATTLE

Bullocks (12) sold to 239p per kilo for a 609 kilo Limousin from Gask and purchased by Fleming Butchers, Arbroath and to £1531 per head for a 649 kilo Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by J. Chapman (Butchers ) Ltd., Wishaw to average 221p per kilo.

Heifers (9) sold to 248p per kilo for a 602 kilo Limousin from West Bog and £1492 for the same animal and purchased by Penman Butchers, Crail to average 231p per kilo.

PRIME SHEEP

A good show of 653 Lambs met a sharper trade on the week. Lambs sold to 217.4p per kilo for a 46 kilo Continental Lamb from S.M. Blair, Newbigging of Ceres, Cupar and to £100 per head (twice) from the same home for the same animal and also to £100 again for a 54 kilo Texel from Munro Smith, Creagan, Kinneff to average 186.7p per kilo (plus 6.3p on the week and 27.1p on the year).

A strong show of Ewes met a sound trade with all classes forward selling well. Top Price of the day went to W. Mather & Sons, Shandford for a pen of Texel Ewes reaching £110.
