Lawrie & Symington, Forfar had forward 42 Prime Cattle, Cast Cows and Bull, also  690  Prime Sheep.  

PRIME CATTLE

Bullocks (21) sold to 244p for a 570kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by Falconer Family Butchers, Arbroath and to £1441 per head for a 728 kg Limousin from the Gask and purchased by Rennie Butchers, Forfar to average 203p per kg.

Heifers (12) sold to 248p for a 505kg Limousin from Nethermyres and purchased by Penman Butchers, Crail and to £1353 for a 618kg Limousin from Craignathro and purchased by Stuart Annand, Crathie Lodge to average  215p per kg.

Incorporated in the Sale was the Tayside Suffolk Breeders Club Annual Show & Sale which was kindly sponsored by East Coast Viners, The Horn Milk Bar, Mr. T. MacPherson and Lawrie & Symington Ltd.

Mr. Stuart Annand, Crathie Lodge kindly judged the Show and his awards were as follows:-

CLASS 1 – Pair of Pure Suffolks (45kg and over)

2nd – G. Mackie, Drimmie – 52.5kg - £101 to S. Annand, Crathie Lodge.

3rd – T. Howden, Stanley – 46.5kg - £99 to Scott Bros., Dundee.
